I'd risk the opinion this is melodeath. Like it used to be in the good old days, you know. I.e. this is death metal, and the vocalist's tour de force. Excellent album.

Bret I want to call this deathcore, but I like it . So I’m not sure that moniker applies. This is brutal, but can be very melodic as well . Some great breakdowns and killer vocals!
